There were a few glitches on their site last year, resulting in some of you losing your brackets entirely. Hopefully, they have bolstered their bandwidth to accommodate the increased traffic this year.

Our bracket contest officially kicks off at 12:30 AM (EST) on Thursday, March 21st. If you participated last year, simply log in with your existing account and proceed to fill out your bracket. For newcomers, please create a user account with CBS Sports Bracket Manager and submit your brackets. You will have the flexibility to edit your brackets and monitor your progress throughout the tournament using their mobile app or your home PC.

Deadline: 12:30 AM (EST) on Thursday, March 21

Entry Fee: $0 per bracket

Website: CBS Sports Bracket Manager

Bracket Name: Office Pool 64

Steve Cuddihyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08617072941840879211noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1593772681181030812.post-59476980384994920232023-12-27T11:02:00.003-06:002023-12-27T11:02:23.029-06:002024 Tournament Schedule
Pre-Tournament Events

March 17: Teams Announced @ 5:00 PM [CST] on CBS
March 19-20: Four Play-In Games
March 21: Entry Deadline @ 11:30 AM [CST]
First Weekend Of The Tournament
March 21-22: Round One - 64 Teams
March 23-24: Round Two - 32 Teams

Second Weekend Of Games
March 28-29: Round Three - 16 Teams
March 30-31: Round Four - 8 Teams

Championship Weekend
April 6: Round Five - Semi-Finals - 4 Teams
April 8: Round Six - Championship - 2 Teams

NCAA Division I Men's Tournament Dates (2024).
Retrieved from https://www.ncaa.com/march-madness/schedule
Steve Cuddihyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08617072941840879211noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1593772681181030812.post-84026890727695835122023-03-02T12:13:00.009-06:002023-03-02T13:13:45.610-06:002023 Office Pool 64 Bracket Challenge Returns
Get ready for the 27th annual OfficePool64 Bracket Challenge!

The NCAA basketball tournament pairings have just been announced, and we are excited to announce the launch of our Bracket Challenge. Baylor dominated. Their defense, rebounding, shooting, speed, everything they did crushed Gonzaga. The Zags did get it to a single digit game with 8-9 minutes to go, and they had to work just to get to that point. It was not an exciting final game to say the least.

But we do have a winner for the 2021 OfficePool64 Bracket Challenge. Congratulations goes out to Edward Rhoads of Carmel, Indiana. Obviously selected Baylor to win it all, but he also had the highest pick percentage at 71% correctly picked.

Here are this year's Top Ten pick sheets.

Edward Rhoads - 176
Jim Richards - 158
Randy Laird - 156
John G Chorlian - 147
Sean P Kelly - 145
Garry Tapfer - 145
Cory Vogel - 145
Lance Shannon - 145
www.ganza.com - 144
Randy Page 9 - 143

The website is having issues again. No one predicted these final four teams, but quite a few of you selected three of four teams.

As odd as the tournament schedule has been this year, the final weekend of games plays out like it always does on Saturday and Monday. Saturday's tipoff is 5:14 ET with Baylor and Houston the first game. Gonzaga and UCLA is the second game with an approximate tipoff time of 8:34 ET. Both games are on CBS.

With only three games remaining, there are eight tournament scenarios that can happen. I don't see it noted if it's Eastern or Central time zone, so check your local listings for the exact start time.

So this week, rounds three and four will playout over Saturday through Tuesday! Kind of reminds me of what the NFL did with their schedule this past year, not playing on their normally scheduled days we've all gotten accustom too.

For this years OfficePool64 Bracket Challenge, we have 359 people in the office pool. Which is on pace from 2019 when we had 367 people playing. Now that round two is completed, the Player Scenarios link is now live. It takes several hours to calculate this link as there are right around 32,000 possibilities remaining in the standings.

I have had some quirkiness happening with my webhost, which started Monday evening. I couldn't get the standings to upload onto the webhost. It was timing out before it could get started. This also happened Wednesday into Thursday. So if the standings links were acting strange during the week for you, it was the host server acting up. If this does happen again, I'll make the standings available on my OneDrive. I believe that would work as a backup plan.
Steve Cuddihyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08617072941840879211noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1593772681181030812.post-58463391293633054062021-03-20T13:30:00.009-05:002021-04-13T14:39:05.030-05:00So Good To Have This Tournament Back
Welcome back to everyone who has been here before and greetings to all the new people.

Just a quick email to this years participants to let you know the standings are live and updating once per hour, at the top of the hour, after games have completed.

There are no perfect brackets remaining, and 14 of 16 is tops at this point. Way too early for your bracket to be busted, unless you had Ohio State as a final four team.

If you have any questions, you can always email me at anytime. Once again there are 68 teams selected in the official tournament bracket. However, we will start out contest when they are down to 64 teams. My seats were in the second level, not the greatest, but being there in that atmosphere was undescribable. Especially when the Auburn Player fouled the Virginia player behind the three point line to end the game. The mood inside the stadium when we all finally realized what was happening....wow!

The games were so good and so fun to witness with the passionate fans that were there for each of the four schools. The Texas Tech fans were the loudest, or at least in my section they were the loudest. I knew all of their cheers by the end of the Saturday games.

We do have a winner in the 2019 OfficePool64 Bracket Contest. Congratulations goes out to Tom Johnson of Forest Park, Illinois. His first round wasn't that great as he correctly picked 20 of 32 teams, but when eight teams remain, correctly picking seven of the schools was the difference maker, plus correctly picking the Virginia as the champion.

Here are the top five brackets

Tom Johnson - 167 Points
Chris Charters - 166 Points
Jamie Kritischenko - 165 Points
Cory Vogel - 162 Points
Blake Pierre - 160 Points

We will see you again in 2020!!Steve Cuddihyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08617072941840879211noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1593772681181030812.post-54391655578894657872019-04-01T17:30:00.000-05:002019-04-02T14:40:50.925-05:00What A Difference A Week MakesWhat a difference a week makes for the tournament results. First weekend, it was clear the top seeds were ranked correctly by the powers that be with 12 of the top 16 teams advancing. And my though last weekend was, if this trend keeps going, the top seeded teams will again advance keeping a lot of bracket sheets in play. Well, that trend did not continue as we ended up a #1, #2, #3, and a #5 advancing to the championship weekend in Minneapolis.

We have #1 seed Virginia advancing this year. In my bracket, since they lost as a #1 seed to #16 seed UMBC last year, naturally I was scared to pick them to go far. 186 of the 367 brackets correctly selected them.

Then we have #2 Michigan St, in a very exciting game beating the favorite Duke team. 72 of you got this one correct. As I look at the one bracket I did on paper, I have Michigan St as my champion, except when I filled it in online, I picked Gonzaga as my champion. Why did I change? I pick Michigan St as my Champion, a lot, and get burned year after year as they always lose to Duke. Izzo was 1-11 versus Coach K. So I went with Gonzaga, and they are out with Mich St advancing.

Only 28 pick sheets correctly picked Texas Tech to beat Gonzaga. Goodbye to my champion team, but thankfully it wasn't after round one like last year.

Lastly is Auburn, the #5 seeded team. Just 12 of you brave soles correctly picked them. They were not on my radar this year, but they have been fun to watch.

We have exactly one bracket correctly picking all four remaining teams. Congratulations! They can win this bracket contest of Auburn or Texas Tech wins the championship.

That's all I have for today, the last three games start back up in Minneapolis, Saturday evening, which I will be attending and finish up on Monday.Steve Cuddihyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08617072941840879211noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1593772681181030812.post-90608694960157779782019-03-25T17:30:00.000-05:002019-04-02T14:40:00.839-05:00Top Seeds Are Still In ItWell, that was an uneventful weekend of games. Of the top four seeded teams in each region, 14 of those 16 teams advanced to the next weekend of games. Last year, only 7 of those 16 teams advanced, so quite a difference. No buzzer beaters, only one overtime game that I was aware of. There were a couple of close calls for some of the tops teams, Tennessee, Duke, but for the excitement factor, it was pretty tame.

On the bracket side, we totaled 367 submitted brackets, which was up from last year's 320 brackets. So thank you to all of you returning players, and there are a ton of you that come back year after year.

I'm going to keep it short this week. Now that two rounds are over and sixteen teams remain, the player scenarios have calculated. To see what your best place finish can be, as well as your worst place finish, head to the player scenarios to see who you need to root for.Steve Cuddihyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08617072941840879211noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1593772681181030812.post-12805543903035416152019-03-17T17:55:00.005-05:002019-03-17T17:55:56.855-05:002019 OfficePool64 Bracket Challenge BeginsEntries are now being accepted into the 23rd OfficePool64 Bracket Challenge. Michigan's defense was dominant. They gave Villanova all kinds of trouble and the struggled to score points. The same could be said for Villanova's defense. But then Donte DiVincenzo entered the game and took over the game. It's not surprising he was the Most Valuable Player of the game. If you saw the game, he did not look like a player that should come off the bench. Michigan didn't have an answer and fumbled the remainder of the game away. Hat's off to Villanova as they won their second Championship game in three years. DiVincenzo for the game in 2016 was part of the team, but was wearing a suit, on the team bench.

This puts a close on our bracket contest. With 166 points, Jeffrey Brewer wins the 2018 Bracket Contest! He had our highest pick percentage at 70% correct and correctly picked three of the last four teams in the tournament. Connie Cuddihy was a close second at 164 points, she also picked three of the last four teams. Mike Krings was our third place finisher, and he also had three of the last four teams correct. It was a trend for the top teams this year.
